At the time, he was serving as an Assistant Professor of English at the Government Graduate College, Hasilpur. His exceptional performance led to his permanent appointment on November 19, 2022.
Recognizing his historic contributions, the government entrusted him with a second term as DDC on February 3, 2026. With over three and a half years of strategic leadership, Prof. Alam has become a symbol of professional integrity and a beacon of hope for the public education sector.
“Sarkari Colleges are Miari Colleges”
Under the guidance of the Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab—including the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat—Prof. Alam launched a transformative mission. He introduced the powerful slogan “Sarkari Colleges are Miari (Standard) Colleges.”
This was not merely a marketing message; it was a call to action. Prof. Alam added a deeply human dimension to his administration by stepping out of his office and engaging directly with the community. During enrollment campaigns, he personally visited neighborhoods, meeting parents and students to highlight the quality and opportunities available in public institutions.
He even engaged members of the legal community at the Bahawalpur and Hasilpur Bars, encouraging them to place their trust in the public education system.

Perhaps the strongest proof of his sincerity lies in his personal decision. Prof. Alam enrolled his own daughter in the first year at the Government Graduate College (DMR) Bahawalpur.
