A Clay Nightingale

An artist kneaded clay and made a nightingale. He installed it near a flower bed in a garden.

Any person glancing from a distance perceived it as a real nightingale. However, upon coming closer, it was revealed to him that it was not real; instead, it was made of clay.

Although its colorful surface reality was that of a nightingale, but from the perspective of inner reality it did not contain any of the faculties of a real nightingale.

Neither it had a nightingale mind, nor did it have any passion for flowers and gardens.

Hints:

Surface reality: External senses (the five senses).

Inner reality: Internal senses (the subtle senses).

Passion for flowers: A life of higher meaning.
