I Am Learning to Let Go of Control
Maintaining a Positive Attitude
I consider myself fortunate that whenever my positive outlook begins to weaken, someone somehow appears to guide me back on track. I have learned not to react quickly in anger, to listen more attentively to others, and to approach people with empathy. During difficult times, I try to remain calm and avoid making rushed decisions. Over time, I realized that true strength does not lie in imposing one’s will on others, but in controlling one’s own emotions and helping those in need. This understanding has also taught me that when someone is in pain, it is better not to immediately assume bad intentions.
Accepting Change and Moving Toward Growth
Change often brings fear—the fear of the unknown and the fear of failure. Yet avoiding change can leave us stuck in one place and prevent us from moving forward. I do not want my life to remain stagnant. Instead, I want to embrace change and allow it to shape me into a better version of myself. Change prepares me for new challenges, and I am ready to face them.
Seeing People Realistically
In the past, I used to think of leaders and role models as perfect individuals. Now I understand that they are human beings just like me. They are hardworking, determined, and intelligent, but they are not flawless. Realizing this has shown me that I, too, can grow and achieve similar things through effort and dedication.
The Importance of Relationships and Networking
There was a time when I thought networking was a formal and difficult task. My perspective has changed. Some of the best connections are formed when I relate to people on a personal level. I have made new friends who share similar goals, and these friendships naturally grow into meaningful professional relationships.
Building Relationships That Support Growth
I have come to realize that some past relationships did not truly reflect who I am or where I want to go. Now I focus on forming friendships built on mutual respect and support. These relationships help me stay focused on my goals. It is important to surround oneself with people who share similar values and encourage personal growth.
Finding the Positive in Difficult Situations
It is easy to fall into self-criticism and assume the worst about ourselves. However, I have learned to shift my perspective. I still make mistakes, but that does not mean I am a failure. I have learned to treat myself with kindness and to understand that setbacks do not define who I am.
Small Steps for Everyday Success
I have adopted simple habits that make daily life more manageable—planning tasks in advance, keeping my space organized, and preparing healthy meals. These habits help me take better care of myself. I believe that my future self will be grateful for these small but consistent efforts. Having a clear plan also makes it easier for me to stay on track.
Managing Pressure and Anxiety
In the past, I allowed pressure and deadlines to take control of my emotions, which often increased my anxiety. Now I consciously try to break that pattern by taking small steps each day. Completing tasks one at a time gives me a greater sense of control and helps reduce stress.
Letting Go of the Need to Be Perfect
I once focused too much on achieving the highest grades and believed that success meant performing perfectly in every test. Over time, I learned that college is not only about getting top marks. It is about truly understanding what we learn, even if the process involves challenges and mistakes. Success does not always mean getting everything right; sometimes it means facing difficulties and learning in new ways.
Living in the Present Moment
Previously, I often found myself waiting for the next big event while overlooking the small moments in between. Now I realize the importance of living in the present. By trusting the process and enjoying the journey, I have learned to appreciate the little things in everyday life that bring genuine happiness.
