The Middle east war and its long term global consequances

The new war in the Middle East that strated on February 28, 2026 afte a joint attack by US and israel on Iran not something that happened suddenely. It is the esult of many years of mistrust, failed talks and conflicting goals. Some people say this war is necessay to stop Iran fom developing nuclear weapons, but this view is too limited. It ignores the serious and long term problems that this war can create for the the whole world.

The main reason behind this conflic is the failure of diplomacy. Earlier indirect talks were taking place with the help of Oman and there was some hope for ageement. Iran showed that it was ready to accept some limits on its nuclear program. Howeve serious disagreements remained. Isreal strongly opposed any deal with Iran because it sees iran as a major threat to its suvival. At the same time some groups in US wanted a wider agreement that would also limit Irans missile program and its relations with regional groups like Hezbollah, Hamas and Houthis. Iran refused to accept these extra conditions and wanted to focus only on the nuclear issue. Because of these differences talks failed and the situation moved toward war.

At a deeper level, this war shows that US and Israel has similar strategic goals. Both wanted to reduce Irans influence in the region and stop it from challenging Israel’s power. For US the Middle East is very important because of its military bases, alliances with Gulf countries, and need to protect oil supplies and trade routes. However a long war can damage these interests by putting American forces and allies at risk and increasing instability in the region. Iran’s reaction has already made the situation more dangerous. Instead of attacking the US directly Iran has targeted American military bases in the Gulf. This has expanded the conflict and increased the chances of mistakes that could lead bigger war. Modern weapons are not always perfectly accurate, so missiles and drones can hit wrong targets and cause civilian deaths. As a result daily life and economic activity in the Gulf reigion are being distrubed.

For Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, this war create a serious problem. These countries do not have enough military power to fight Iran directly, so they depend on US for protection. This makes them vulnerable and anger among their people, who feel they are suffering because of a conflict that is not directly theirs.

Another wrong idea behind this war is that removing or weakening Iran,s government will bring peace. Past examples show that this is not true. Wars in Iraq, libya and Afghanistan prove that its is easy to emove a government but very difficult to crate stability afterward. If Iran becomes unstable, it may lead to chaos and the rise of militant groups, which can create problems not only for the region but for the whole world.

The economic effects of this war are also very serious. The Gulf region is very important for global oil supply, and any disruption can increase oil prices and create economic problems worldwied. Important trade routes espacially the Strait of Hormuz, may be affected. Millions of foreign workers may lose their jobs if the economy becomes weak, which will also affect their home countries that depend on remittances.

Another impotant issue is the Kudish question. If outside powers support Kurdish groups inside Iran, it can create a bigger regional crisis. The Kurdish population lives in diffeent countries such as Turkey, Syria, and Iraq. If Kurds in one country try to become independent, it may encourage others to do the same, leading to more conflicts and possible changes in borders.

This war can also change global politics. Countries like China and Russia can take advantage of the situation to increase their influence in the Middle east and challene the US. At the same time Iran may decide to develop nuclear weapons for protection, which could start a nuclear arms race in the egion.

The humanitarian situation will also worsen, with moe refugees, distruction of cities, and human suffering.

Inshort continuing this war is not a wise strategy. Militay actions may give short term benefits, but it can not slove deep political problems. A long war will only increase instability, weak economics, and create more insecurity in the world. The only real solution is to return to diplomacy, even if it is difficult. The Middle East is at a very important turning point, and the decisions made now will affect global peace in the future. Dialogue, patience and compromise are the only ways to achive lasting stability.
